A church strikes back – and a Designer appointment

Metal thieves seem to have very little respect these days. I yearn for the days of gentlemen metal thieves, who’d only steal the bicycles and iron rods flashed about by the landed gentry. These days, your average disrespectful metal thief will even target a church – but one plucky building (aided by installer Sonic Security UK), is fighting back.

The Designing Out Crime Association has elected Liane Hartley of Capita Symonds to its board, where she’ll spread the word of DOCA amongst the wider world.

I’ve just been informed that you last chance to vote for the Security Manufacturer of the Year in the Security Excellence Awards 2008 is Friday week, August 15. So get your votes in now, security-folk.

And get involved with the London 2012 Olympics – there’s a deadline for expressions of interest in tendering for this, and that deadline is August 18.

Also visit www.jobsforsecurity.com. Jobs are an excellent way of making an income and providing some meaning in life. Security is important in keeping people and things safe. This site combines the two.
