The security week: A pioneer passes

Well hello there, you. Let’s take a quick look at the security news dominating the schedules etc this week, shall we?

First up is Brian Sims‘ obituary of security industry pioneer Jorgen Philip-Sorenson, who Brian describes as “a security legend”.

Then there’s IMS Research’s claim that ADT will command half of the North American domestic alarm monitoring market following a recent acquisition. Dominant!

A company that Jorgen Philip-Sorenson helped to establish, G4S, has released a report which claims that crime against large retailers is perceived as victimless. What’s all that about, eh?

This week’s Song About Security comes from Jay Sean. If you click on this link you will find not only the video, but an interesting fact as well! That does sound like fun.

You know that security exhibition thing, IFSEC? That’s the one. It’s on again in a few short months. Pre-register your interest and all that sort of thing by going here.

Then relax by watching some grainy live black and white footage of alpacas eating.
